I've got my holidays all mixed up. I'm referencing Valentine's Day and Thanksgiving all in the merry month of March. But I've always been impacted by the thought that we should hold the sentiments of whatever season we're in all year long. And I've been reminded of the benefits of thanksliving recently. The past 3 months (including this screenplay-worthy political season) have brought to my life more disappointment than I've seen in the last 3 years. So I'm employing an old strategy that is keeping my attitude in pretty tip-top shape. This strategy was a huge part of my development years ago and I'm so excited to have been reminded of it.
According to James 1:2 we are to "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, when we fall into various trials." A proactive approach, I heard in a sermon, is to look for disappointing circumstances and see them as a cue to audibly (if you can) praise God! What a game changer! What a way to think outside the box! And since I've never received a credible idea while I was worried...I also find this a key to keeping life moving forward.
They say you can't control what happens to you...only your response. But when your response gets out of control...here's a way to take it back!
