Morning Meds, Day 9

Morning Meds, Day 9

Different,Yet the Same

So I had to ask Christian, “Do you feel any different, I mean since you’ve been taking the Protandim? (“You know, since you haven’t been stomping around here and screaming like a madman? But I didn’t say that part.”) And, in true teenage form he looked at me like I’d grown a second head and said “Nooo.”

I didn’t understand so well until Monday night when I had a huge revelation and a change on the inside of my own. Something I’ve been struggling with forever and I finally gave up thinking I wasn’t achieving for a lack of effort. I’d given PLENTY of effort, but I was bankrupt and giving 100% of nothing doesn’t yield much progress.

After admitting that a month or two ago, God was finally able to do something with me…pretty strong and powerful, aligning my desires with His, making His command seem like my idea! He’s amazing that way…something I’ve struggled with for so long will never be a problem again. Only God.

When He wins me over this way I swear I’ll never go back, back to pleasing people on the outside but being disconnected on the inside. I don’t care if I look a mess, if I truly am a mess then that’s the important thing to change.

And that’s why I admire my son, if he’s a mess you’ll know it. He’s not afraid to be the same on the inside and out. He doesn’t always know how to improve something, but he’ll let you know when something needs improvement.

If you were to ask me, I’d have to say I don’t feel any differently either. I’ve always felt whole and right, but now I am more whole and more right. I’m happier, but I’m also the same because my rightness doesn’t come from me, but from the Son of God (the real one, not the movie one :-)

Morning Meds, Day 8

Morning Meds, Day 8
The Middle of a Miracle

A dear friend asked me a very important question over the summer, “What is it that you’re really expecting from Christian?”
Wow, right between the kisser! Why, you ask? Because I had gotten lazy in my expectation. I was beat down from every manifestation that this diagnosis of Autism was bringing. More crazy outbursts, more teenage hormones with a monster-like twist, more withdrawal from society, more isolation in the home, more claiming to want friends and never talking to any. I was getting beat down when I said I would keep my expectations high.
And now. What can I say? I’m in the middle of a miracle I didn’t deserve. I was just listening to The Script’s song today, “When a heart breaks, it don’t breakeven.” I repented and God of course has the bigger part of my heart and he’s gracing our family to watch Christian become free of autism one step at a time.
Of course I have no idea how far this will go. I just know my son and I agreed to politely disagree with his teacher that told him he’ll live in assisted living the rest of his life. I told him if he can prove he has the skills to live on his own he’ll live on his own one day…and that is his desire. The first profession he ever listed he wanted to have was that of Father. And if that’s what he wants, I believe that’s what he’ll have.
The miracle is born of science, but it is a miracle still. A miracle I ever found out about this product and a miracle that I can help spread the word to others. If I haven’t called you yet about it, forgive me…I don’t mind you beating me to the punch. You’re on my short list to testify to. I have much work to do to catch up to what God is doing.
And if you’re not sick of me yet (please pace yourself…I’m just getting started!) I’ll be doing a tour of sorts in Google Hangouts, starting this Wed. at 3pm Central Time on WOAMTEC live, a national women’s networking group. I’m not sure what I’ll be talking about, but I hope I get to mention my miracle…if not I know you’ll see it beaming off my face.  Just click below on Wed. to watch…or look for it on YouTube if you can’t make it at that time.
Just remember when it happens to you…the phrase “Delay is not denial” will no longer be a cliché.

Morning Meds, Day 7

Morning Meds
A Tale of Two Professions

Once upon a time, if you can believe it, actors were seen as the dregs of society. Actors were whores, infidels, liars, thieves and dogs. People literally threw tomatoes at them if they weren’t entertained. And since all roles were played by men at one time (the stage was too indecent of women), those men were jeered and ridiculed.

Of course, there are modern day parallels…now many famous people just act like those labels, but in society’s eyes they are still revered. When I tell people I’m an actor they say, “Wow, that sounds like fun! That is so cool! I used to…” And so it goes.

Along with life coaching, I have now entered another profession that I am hoping in far less time, will be able to tell the same history.  “Can you believe at one time they used to say the network marketing profession was for losers who couldn’t get a real job? They used to call them crazy and dreamers and not even give you the time of day!” Yeah, it’s hard to believe.

I look at Eric Worre, writer of an incredible book called, Go Pro, as a modern day Stanislavski. He is the one who brought honor to acting at the turn of the 20th century. People laughed when he called acting a profession, said it required skill, trained people in how to be masters at it.

As a coach, as a network marketer, as an actor; may I ever be professional. May I uphold the best practices in each profession. May I bring glory to God and honor the seed He’s sown in me. And if I can inspire anyone to do the same…it will have been worth it.

Morning Meds, Day 5

A Review of My Clients
After each 12 week session I ask my clients for a review, both for marketing purposes and to learn. In fact, I've referred to my clients as my teachers several times and it's too true. I thought you might enjoy my reviews of them. Consider it My chocolate-covered thank you just in time for Valentine's Day.
MH-- my first client with traditional SMART goals, measurable and authentic. I learned from you. .. what I do actually works!!!
VH-- Having measurable goals is preferable, but what fun we had splashing around in the pool of learning figuring that out, laughing and rejoicing in our ignorance and seemingly pointless conversations, from which I always walked away happier than before the phone rang.
SD-- Now I know why we shout "Surprise!" at some parties. Unexpected moments are such a gift. .. like when you cried and I so didn't see it coming. Really, I could never see you coming. Keeping me off balance made me stronger and more limber.
MS--I know we're not done quite yet, but I want you to know you taught me how to listen. I thought I knew, but you taught me better. Very fitting because you yourself are an excellent listener.
SK-- You were the first one who saw in me what I see. Some of the most beautiful words in the universe right?  "I see you." Thank you.
DS-- What can I say? From you I've learned mercy because I've been where you've been. I've also learned real plutonic love between a man and a woman. Thank you for showing me that was possible.
Thank you all for reading my meds. May you concentrate more this week on who you are loving than who's loving you.

Morning Meds, Day 4

Upper Level ... "Stuff"

I was able to attach here my second favorite scene from Men In Black, since YouTube doesn't seem to have my first favorite, which took place, I believe, right before this one.  In it Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones' characters are riding in the elevator of headquarters for the first time, and Will Smith's character surmises astutely, "There's some upper level *!?/ going on here." That's probably my favorite movie line ever, depending on when you ask me, but at anytime it would be in my top 5.  There are things beyond the surface of this life, stuff you're not going to see unless you scratch the surface or dig a little.

And that's what the scene I have included is about. It's about how being a digger, separates you from people who want to believe that everything they need to know is served up to them conveniently, with dinner, on the 6 o'clock news.  Today I'm here to say, sometimes it is, and sometimes it isn't. Sometimes even the things that make the news aren't heavily publicized, so I'm giving some pub today to a company that I believe in and some info I think you need to know. With the movie clip everything would take you about 8 min. of your life to watch, and I respect every second.  Let me know if you'd like more information

...This message will self destruct in 5..4..3... (I always wanted to say that!)

Morning Meds, Day 3

Congratulations...You're an author!

So guess what I found out last week Thursday? I'm writing a book...Yeah, seriously! Actually, I knew that, but I didn't know I was writing it now! But yep, I am. I've been taking notes for it for awhile but just this morning in fact, have started on the chapters, so here's the (first draft of the) introduction...thought you might enjoy it.

                                                               *******
I consider self-knowledge, self-revelation and self-discovery to be among the most elegant of arts. I wholly agree with the maxim, "You can never get to where you're going, until you know where you are."

I intend to go somewhere...and, with your consent, take you with me! So where shall we go?

How about to a land flowing with milk and honey...a land of promises--grapes the size of golf balls and watermelons the size of car tires!!!

And why must we go together? Because of the giants the size of warring angels (Yeah, I think we'll bring them too!)
                                                                 ********

Hey, it's a start, right? You don't like it? Go right your own book! No really, start today! We all have something to say ;0)

P.S. There's still time to sign up for my tele-conference starting Wed. Me and the crew (those who have signed up already) would love to have you!
