Seems like such a ridiculous question nowadays, but in Bible times that's how they believed. In John 9 we see the story of a man born blind that Jesus healed. And instead of rejoicing in the victorious healing, the religious leaders were relentless in their search for answers. How could this happen?
Aren't you glad we're not judgmental like that anymore? Unless of course, it's financial trouble, or a divorce, or even all the black men in prison. Then it's best to find out who's to blame here....right?
Or did we just step right back into the Pharisaical mess we're so quick to laugh at. But for my life, I love the answer of our Savior, “These things happened to show forth the goodness of God.” John 9:3. It's time to be unashamed, to stand up for injustice and to allow the mercy of God to shine forth in our lives!
