Zero Procrastination

Zero Procrastination

It might be the green hair….
but it appears I’ve come up with yet another radical theory...what if procrastination isn’t real? What if it’s just another story we’ve told ourselves?

I started coming to this because one of my pastors was saying that in order to keep her mind uncluttered she doesn’t think about a project until some other projects due before it are finished, and sometimes that only leaves her hours or a day to complete certain things. Sure an idea or two may come to her in the meantime which she’ll jot down, but she won’t answer questions about the event or give any thought to it until she’s taken other things off of her plate.

I began to put this into practice and one of the things I began to realize is how little time it takes to really do most things when you don’t add worrying about it on top of it.  Of course, zero worrying is a revolutionary concept all in itself, perhaps next time, but I realized this is why things get done no matter how late we wait to start on them.

And heck, the Bible does not talk about procrastination, which already makes it suspect. It speaks of laziness, which I would define as habits that don’t help you. Because when you need rest, sitting on the couch doing nothing is incredibly productive, but when you don’t...not so much.

So what if you completed everything when it should be completed, what if you never had to worry about not finishing something on time, that no matter how late you start there’s plenty of time to do it, and catch up on your rest later?
What if that’s already happening and you can just now open your eyes to it?
