Surprised By Love
"Love wins" is the motto of my church. So it's been interesting to see America pick up that phrase in support of alternate marriage. As I was discussing the concept of "hating the sin and loving the sinner" with a client, I talked about how there are so many elements to love that are very surprising. How are we showing the surprising side of love?
When Jesus loved people they were always surprised at what His love called Him to do. And there was definitely no canned response. His love was tailored to what specific people needed at the time. He stayed present and alert to what was spiritually evident at the time. He served people with His love. Has God ever surprised you with His love? Do you need to be surprised by love again? Just ask for it! And how can you surprise someone with love today?
